As a Summer Associate in our Healthcare Management Program (HMP) internship, you’ll have the chance to develop the vital skills, knowledge and experience necessary to become a leader in the dynamic healthcare field. Join us and take on important projects such as:
• Process mapping
• Annual report development
• Joint Commission Certification research
• Business plan creation
• Hospital performance dashboards
• Service line financial reporting
• Cost-savings analysis
• Redesigning of hospital units; and so much more

This elite and extensive 10-week paid summer internship is not your traditional internship and is open to current college juniors with a record of outstanding academic achievement. Through this unique program, you will see first hand what it’s like to serve as a healthcare administrator in one of our many participating hospitals, service lines or departments.

The Healthcare Management Program has opened so many doors for me that I never knew existed. I came into this internship 100% out of my comfort zone, but I pushed to make sure I would leave with a different perspective on healthcare. I wasn’t sure what to expect coming into the Healthcare Management Program internship. I assumed the majority of my duties would revolve around normal intern duties (i.e. fetching coffee, sorting papers). I was pleasantly surprised when my work was actually contributing to the patient’s experience. Only a few days in, one of my projects made it onto a PowerPoint presentation which was shared with several administrators. As the 8 weeks passed by, I was dreading the end! I genuinely felt like a valued member of the team, and these experiences provided me with several tools that I will be able to take with me throughout the rest of my professional career.

Following an orientation, you will work with a carefully-selected mentor to learn the operations of running a hospital, service line, or health care related business. The program, includes:
• Exposure & networking with executive leadership
• Meaningful hands-on project work and assignments
• Weekly didactic Educational Sessions
• Attendance at top level decision making meetings
• Team building activities
• End of summer Alumni Dinner where you can meet with executives and HMP Alumni
• And much more
